THE ROUTE
On Monday, September 3, the pros will ride the 16th stage of the 2012 Vuelta, a box full of surprises for the peloton. The Cuitu Negru towers above the Valgrande-Pajares ski resort, but before they reach it the riders will face a three-kilometre wall with sections at gradients of 24% and even 25%! Three passes which have made Asturias feared in the peloton will have sapped their legs beforehand: La Cabruñana, San Lorenzo and La Cobertoria.
