23 stages of La Vuelta have departed from Benidorm
Benidorm, in the heart of Spain’s Costa Blanca, is one of our country’s most famous tourist destinations. Each year, it welcomes over 10 million visitors, who come to enjoy its beaches and privileged climate. For all these reasons, Spain’s major cycling race, La Vuelta, has made this city in the province of Alicante one its favourite locations. Benidorm has hosted three official starts (1964, 1987 and 2011), and a total of 23 stage starts and 17 finishes, with six stages being held entirely through its streets.
