Benjamin Thomas (Groupama-FDJ) : “I didn’t expect to be the best young rider in this time-trial. There are strong riders among the u25, many youngsters riding La Vuelta for the first time like Pavel Sivakov or Tao Geoghegan Hart. I started late so I could see all the times while waiting in the bus. I thought it was going to be hard, I was targeting a top 20, like I did at the Dauphiné. Top 15, best young rider, I’m very satisfied with my day. I love TTs, may they be 4km, 8km, or 40km long. This year, I was 3rd at the Nationals and I was discovering such long distances, so I really like this. My experience from the tracks helps me.”
