Ben Gastauer (AG2R-La Mondiale) : “It was hard with the heat and a really hard profile. Then, with the breakaway, we handled things well at the front once the peloton had let us go. In the end, it all played out in the final climb and that’s where I came a bit short. The percentage was always changing, it was hard but I fought and I ended 5th. I can be happy with this but I’m also a bit disappointed, when you go in the front you’re aiming for victory.”
