Laredo is one of the Cantabrian Coast’s most renowned tourist destinations during the summer, with its Battle of Flowers as its most popular festivity – declared of National Touristic Interest and held each year, since the early 20th century, on the last Friday in August. It consists mainly of a procession of floats adorned with flowers and petals, all competing during this authentic festival of colours.
