RULES

The rules are the bible for a sporting competition. Through their balance and subtleties, they must ensure equality, motivate the riders and help spectators and viewers to understand the event. Here is an outline of the main points in the rules.


LEADERS JERSEYS AND OTHER STANDINGS

Jersey for the rider that occupies first place in the general classification in accordance with the times obtained for each stage.
Sponsor: Carrefour.

Jersey for the rider that occupies first place in the points classification in accordance with the position obtained in each of the completed stages. Riders will accumulate points depending on their positions at the end of each stage, as well as during intermediate sprints.
Sponsor: Škoda.

Jersey for the rider that occupies first place in the King of the Mountain classification in accordance with the points he has accumulated at each point-accruing mountain pass.
Sponsor: Loterías y Apuestas del Estado.

Jersey for the rider that occupies first place in the combined classification. It reflects the rider’s consistency by taking into account the positions obtained in each of the three classifications.
Sponsor: Fertiberia.

This award is obtained by adding each team’s three best individual times in each of the completed stages. The winning team is the one with the lowest time.
Sponsor: Dachser.

Award for the rider who crosses the finish-line in first place.
Sponsor: Cofidis.

Award for the rider who, according to TV viewers, has put up the best fight during each stage.
Sponsor: Feníe Energía.

Awarded to the youngest rider of the general classification at the end of each stage. That award is for the riders that are born after the 1st of January 1993.
