Manosque, the most populated city in Haute Provence, combines a historical centre with a distinct Provençal style with natural surroundings preserved among vineyards and olive groves. The city has already hosted two arrivals in the Tour de France, in 1976 and 1982, with victory going to the Spanish rider José Luis Viejo in the first one. It has also hosted the Paris-Nice race on multiple occasions and, more recently, the Tour de la Provence.
