Interestingly, Gruissan made its debut as a host location for La Vuelta before it did so for the Tour de France. In 2017, it hosted the finish-line for the second stage, that departed from Nimes. Later, in 2024, it made its debut hosting a stage departure in Stage 16 of the French Tour. This French locality, with its distinctly maritime character, stands out for its castle, which acts as the centre of the concentric streets that surround it, creating its characteristic spiral outline.

  • Gruissan has already hosted a La Vuelta finish-line once before.
  • 5,068 inhabitants.
  • Department of Aude.
