A team time trial of nearly 30 kilometers sponsored by Azkar DACHSER Group will kick off Saturday morning a new edition of La Vuelta, which ends next September 11th in Madrid. From Balneario de Laias of Ourense to the Parque Náutico Castrelo de Miño, the 22 participating teams will start the race, a staging which will prevail the collective effort. This first stage will mark the initial differences among the top cyclists this year, including Chris Froome –winner of the last two Tour de France–, Alberto Contador, Alejandro Valverde or Nairo Quintana.
Azkar DACHSER Group, the leader logistics provider in Iberia, sponsors the intense kilometers of the first stage and is again, for the eighth consecutive year, sponsor of the cycling competition and the Team Classification Award. Thus, the company remains true to its values of effort, overcoming spirit and teamwork that it shares with La Vuelta a España.
In this first stage of tomorrow´s race, Galicia will assume the role and it will not leave it until the seventh stage, when the race moves to the neighboring region of Asturias. The northern territories play the principal role during the entire first week of La Vuelta. In each of these start points, Azkar DACHSER Group will also be present with a roulette of gifts for anyone visiting the free access area around the signature control and starting line.
A comprehensive logistics management behind the stage
As the Official Logistics company of the competition, Azkar DACHSER Group is responsible for managing the logistics processes of La Vuelta during the 23 days of competition. The 28 vehicles provided for the organization, including conventional trucks, other ones adapted for different uses, two refrigerators and a container as a mobile kitchen, are already in Ourense prepared for the start of the race. This logistics operation has the support of over 30 Azkar DACHSER Group’s professionals to ensure accordance with the requirements of the logistics management of an itinerant event which changes location, starts and finishes, twice a day during the 21 stages.
