Alessandro De Marchi (BMC): “We were five strong guys at the beginning and then in the end… not so strong. We lost one guy immediately in the mountain because (Davide Villella) was just looking for the points. And then the other three were really good riders. With the right collaboration, it was a good opportunity. I'm happy because I prefer to follow my feelings. Today was a good day so why stay in the bunch? Tomorrow, a lot of guys will ask me if I go in the breakaway and I will answer: ‘why not?' It's easy. I think I will take it easy this week-end and then try again next week. (Thomas) De Gendt told me he wasn't feeling good so at some point I pushed a bit, he was dropped and it was me against the bunch. That was difficult.”
