A prestigious field of sprinters is highly anticipated for the 73rd edition of La Vuelta set to kick off from Málaga on August 25 and finish in Madrid on September 16. World champion Peter Sagan, European champion Matteo Trentin and Italian national champion Elia Viviani lead the charge.
10 CITIES AWAIT LA VUELTA JUNIOR COFIDIS
The eighth edition of La Vuelta Junior Cofidis, a successful educational and sports program that is already a reference in Spain, coincides again with the school year. It’s happening on the last part of the course of ten stages of La Vuelta 18, finishing at Málaga, Alhaurín de la Torre, Roquetas de Mar, San Javier, Almadén, Bermillo de Sayago, Luintra, Torrelavega, Lleida and Madrid. The cycling classrooms have been taught in a total of 110 schools in these locations and have involved 25,000 children between 8 and 12 years.
EUROPCAR ESPAÑA : 10 YEARS WITH LA VUELTA
Europcar España, affiliated company of the Europcar Mobility Group as well as one of the principal mobility actors on a global scale, is renewing its partnership as La Vuelta’s mobility supplier for the 10th consecutive year. Europcar España will serve the race with 280 vehicles, including convertibles, vans and tourism cars, to facilitate the transport of organisation staff and race’s sponsors. Additionally, this year and for the first time, Europcar España will be attending the race in its very own Advertising Caravan, a parade of more than 30 vehicles which will complete the same itinerary as the peloton of La Vuelta. They will be travelling in a Mercedes Benz SLC 200, and will have the chance to be closer to the fans from the start of the race until the end, delighting them with all kind of merchandising products.
NAVA HAS ASPHALTED LES PRAERES FOR LA VUELTA
Last week, the Asturian city of Nava has unveiled the pass of Les Praeres set to host the finish of stage 14 on September 8. Almost 4km of a walkway have been asphalted for this occasion. About 250 people got the chance to discover this new cycling summit in the Asturias by bike, by car or on foot. The town council has put for sale a collection of commemorative jerseys that are already very popular.
