The winner of the second edition of the photo contest #CochesAzules – La Vuelta in one picture is the Brithish photographer Russ Ellis with his picture How much further?, taken in Los Machucos climb on stage 13.
The winning picture was chosen by a jury composed by Miguel Llorente, president of Macario Llorente; Javier Guillén, general director of La Vuelta; Fernando Escartín, sport director of La Vuelta and Laura Cueto, press officer of La Vuelta. The price is a road bike, courtesy of MACARIO LLORENTE, official sponsor of La Vuelta through his brand Shimano.
The contest offered the possibility to the photographers permanently accredited in La Vuelta 19 to send a maximum of two pictures illustrating the event: a representative moment of the race, of cycling and the values that characterize this sport. « I love Russ Ellis’ picture because it perfectly illustrates the loneliness of the rider facing the mountain, the hardness of cycling and of La Vuelta itself », said Miguel Llorente, President of the Jury.
