La Vuelta 19 pays tribute to the National Museum of Prado in its bicentennial

La Vuelta al Prado

The finish of La Vuelta 19 in Madrid, scene of the last stage of the 74th edition of the Spanish Grand Tour after more than 3272km all over the country, will pay tribute to the 200 years of history of the Museo del Prado. Artist Eugenio Ampudia recreates a virtual stage in which La Vuelta goes through the rooms of the Prado, making the spectators participate to therichness of its collection.

La Vuelta wants to pay tribute to an institution that celebrates its 200th anniversary – the Museo del Prado – by having the cyclists who travelled throughout the country showing the Prado collection from the wheels of their bicycles, through the eyes of artist Eugenio Ampudia.

La Vuelta interacts this way with the Museo del Prado that opted to approach each corner of the Spanish geography with projects like “Touring Spain” or “The Prado in the streets” during the celebration of its bicentennial. In the video, artist Eugenio Ampudia creates a set of images of riders that he transfers to the galleries of the museum.
