Pau

The French locality of Pau is one of Western Europe’s privileged enclaves. Its location North of the Pyrenees and status as a transit city on the way to the Alps has made it a place often visited by cyclists who wish to take on this mountain range. The city’s commitment to cycling is such that it has built a monument in honour of all Tour de France winners, known as the Tour des Géants, where a totem commemorates the “giants” that have worn the yellow jersey. After Paris and Bordeaux, Pau is the city to have hosted the Tour most often.
