Renfe: official transport service for La Vuelta 21

Renfe renews its collaboration with Unipublic and will, once again, be the official transport service for La Vuelta 21. The Spanish national railway company supports sports in general and, La Vuelta, in particular.

For the sixth consecutive year, Renfe will ease the movement of the organisation of La Vuelta throughout the Spanish geography, during the competition as well as for the preliminary work involving localisation and route preparation. The organisation of La Vuelta has found in Renfe an exceptional transport partner that allows it to arrive faster, easier and in the safest way possible in the different population centres located along La Vuelta’s itinerary.

Renfe has already carried out large movement operations involving La Vuelta’s caravan. It did so in 2016, moving almost the entire contingent that travels with the race (between 2500 and 3000 people) in high-speed trains, from Alicante to Madrid, following the end of the 20th stage in Alto de Aitana. The model behind this successful operation was replicated following La Vuelta 18’s arrival in Coll de la Gallina (Andorra), connecting Lleida to the capital of Spain.

Its search for excellence, based on the innovation and quality of its services, make it one of the leading transport companies in Spain. Besides its efficiency and commitment, the values of sustainability and social responsibility that it shares with La Vuelta are indicative of a promising future for this historic collaboration. Renfe was the sponsor of the points jersey in 2008 and of the King of the Mountain jersey in 2011, jerseys that were worn on the Madrid podium by Greg Van Avermaet and David Moncoutié, respectively.
