The region of Almería, with its peculiar orography, its coastline unlike any other on the peninsula and its cinematographic desert landscapes will receive the peloton during its well-deserved first rest day. Almeria breathes cycling, as proven by its numerous appearances in La Vuelta. Finish-lines such as Calar Alto or Velefique are insignias of the Spanish Grand Tour. 3-week races aside, the Clásica de Almería receives the peloton’s best sprinters every February, in a race with a history spanning over three decades.
