VB Group travels around Spain to discover this edition of La Vuelta - A Tour of the Senses

VB Group will travel around Spain once again in order to discover this year’s ‘Tour of the Senses’. Through a series of four videos, La Vuelta’s official travel agency proposes an itinerary to discover the main tastes, smells, landscapes, textures and sounds of some of the territories that the race will ride through during this year’s edition. Euskadi, Asturias, Andalusia (Málaga and Granada) and the Autonomous Community of Madrid and Segovia will be the stars of these videos. This is the second series of touristic videos created by VB Group and La Vuelta, following those created in 2021 as part of ‘La Vuelta of the Cathedrals’.

EUSKADI

Euskadi is La Vuelta 22’s entry door to Spain after the three first stages in the Netherlands. Alberto Matabuena, a reporter playing the role of a tour guide, begins the trip by discovering the Harrijasotzea, the Basque stone lifters. Next, he travels to savour the Álava wines through his sense of smell, the salt from the Valle Salado de Añana through his sense of taste and the sound of the Txalapartas through his sense of hearing, only to finish at the Guggenheim Museum, the symbol of Bilbao and a true spectacle not only for your eyes, but for all five of your senses. And the museum turns 25 in 2022!

ASTURIAS

The second trip recommended by VB Group closely resembles, in Asturias, La Vuelta’s route from North to West. The Asturias Mining and Industry Museum in El Entrego is the starting point this time. Colunga takes the traveller back in time through the Jurassic Museum before heading to the mountains of the Picos de Europa to discover its cheeses, with the Gamoneu as its crown jewel. Charles V’s landing in Tazones helps us to discover the Asturian coast before ending our journey in Nava in order to try one of its local culture’s signs of identity: cider.

ANDALUSIA (MÁLAGA AND GRANADA)

Andalusia will be one of the big stars of La Vuelta 22 as, for the first time, the race will cover all eight of its provinces within the same edition. Through the sound of flamenco we discover Ronda, the departure city for stage 13. The views from the Caminito del Rey over the Guadalhorce River will delight the bravest travellers. The trip continues towards Granada, to discover its coastline in Salobreña, and its gastronomy with its seafood skewers. We will awaken our sense of touch through the pottery of La Alpujarra, in Órgiva, and the tropical fruit of the Granada coast will provide a sweet reminder of this trip through Southern Spain.

AUTONOMOUS COMMUNITY OF MADRID AND SEGOVIA

The Guadarrama Mountain Range will be the final challenge to determine the winner of La Vuelta 22 and the starting point for this final video. The Granja de San Ildefonso Royal Palace transports visitors to the 18th century to discover the glass made in the Royal Glass Factory, where the La Vuelta winner’s trophy is made. Moralzarzal will be the starting line for stage 20. There, we will discover such delicacies as its breads, a perfect way to end this journey, and go on an excursion to the Guadarrama Mountain Range to discover its natural diversity with a sunset to the tune of a rustic flute, the area’s typical instrument.
