Grupo Mérica Foods joins La Vuelta 23 as an official provider, along with its brands Tesoro Natural and Amazonia. This union, the result of the group’s growth and of La Vuelta’s wide reach as a Spanish sporting event, hopes to enrich the life of Spaniards by giving visibility to such products as coconut water, aloe vera, chia drink and other types of juices.
Founded over 25 years ago, the idea behind Grupo Mérica was to bring Spain’s Latin community food from their home countries. Over the years, the company has developed a wide range of products, including healthy options under the Tesoro Natural and Amazonia brands, which focus on the Spanish public’s wellness.
Much like in sports, the group has grown due to effort, teamwork and the support of all its partners, overcoming numerous obstacles and becoming a part of events that have a positive impact on the general population, like La Vuelta.
The products that will accompany La Vuelta contain the essential ingredients required to offset the physical and mental effort involved in a tactical and resistance sport like cycling, and will be available in the VIP areas and at other La Vuelta locations.
Some of the more notable Grupo Mérica Foods items that will be present at La Vuelta include:
- Tesoro Natural Coconut Water: rich in nutrients, provides excellent hydration following physical exercise due to its glucose, sodium, potassium and chlorine content - its main electrolytes.
- Tesoro Natural Chia Drink: rich in antioxidants, excellent source of fibre, high in Omega-3 fatty acids and aids in metabolic health.
- Aloe Vera: contains vitamins A, B, C and E, aids to cleanse the body, works as a digestive, lowers cholesterol and prevents constipation.
- Amazonia Juices: large dose of vitamin C and freshness.
‘We’re proud to be part of an event of this magnitude that is committed to sports and to the public’s wellbeing, which are values we share with regards to our products,’ explained Jhony Guevara, Executive President of Grupo Mérica Foods.
