Remco Evenepoel: "A long but very strong sprint"

"It was the perfect tactics from us to be patient, to wait. We did the descent from Coll d’Ordino on the front and that was the good decision. Then I felt super good on the final climb with a long but very strong sprint so I’m super happy with this stage win. For us it would have been a very good thing to have a breakaway gone but when we caught [Lennard Kämna], we had to be focused with the stage win. That’s when I decided to go for it. I felt I had a big punch still in my legs. I’m gonna enjoy the red jersey. It’s a beautiful victory here in Andorra, at high altitude. It shows my preparation was good and that I’m ready for the next three weeks."
