"We knew it would be a crucial point [with 80km to go]. I was there with Edward [Planckaert], who did a fantastic job to put me in position. We were gonna see if we could come back to the breakaway and I would sprint for the intermediate points but in the end it’s always better to be in front anyway. I had a bit of fun out there. I’m very happy with how I’m going, even in the last climbing days, but it’s all thanks to the work of my teammates, keeping me as fresh as possible. I will enjoy the rest day."
