La Vuelta celebrates its past and its future with the official video of ‘Te estaba esperando’, by Antonio Orozco

The Espacio ABC, in Madrid, hosted the presentation of the official video of La Vuelta 25 this Wednesday, in the presence of Antonio Orozco, the singer of Te estaba esperando, and Javier Guillén, General Director of La Vuelta.

La Vuelta will, once again, take off from abroad in 2025, this time from Piedmont, Italy. The race celebrates its 90th anniversary with an edition that will travel to four countries (Italy, France, Andorra and Spain) on its way to the traditional finale in Madrid’s city centre.

The official music video of Te estaba esperando, the official song of La Vuelta 25, is an emotionally-charged story that speaks of waiting as a form of love. Antonio Orozco resumes the narrative thread that he began with Te juro que no hay un segundo que no piense en ti, the first release of his latest album El Tiempo No es Oro. In this new release, the protagonist represents his daughter in the future, a symbolic way of showing the passage of time and everything that remains behind despite it. The song and music video accompany this year’s official La Vuelta video, offering an intimate and moving look that connects with the spirit of the race: stages are overcome and finish-lines crossed. Because, in the end, what matters is not just the arrival, but all the emotion we experience along the way.

The official song of La Vuelta is already an inseparable emblem of the race, with a history spanning over 45 years, combining music and cycling. Since Sheila & B. Devotion set the rhythm of the very first edition with Singing in the Rain back in 1977, numerous artists, both national and international, have accompanied the different editions with their music, turning each year into a soundtrack dedicated to sports and emotion.

As every year, the premiere of the La Vuelta spot marks the start of a full summer of cycling. Filmed with the collaboration of RTVE, the spot will be broadcast on the different channels of public television over the next three months, starting next Saturday 5 July with the start of the Tour de France from Lille and ending on 14 September, with the conclusion of La Vuelta.
