Paradores joins forces with La Vuelta 25 as an official sponsor

  • With this agreement, Paradores reinforces its commitment to the values it shares with La Vuelta: dedication, teamwork, self-improvement, sportsmanship, leadership, passion and excitement.
  • Under the slogan ‘Una Vuelta a lo auténtico’ (a tour of the authentic), Paradores suggests that this year the adventure of La Vuelta continues beyond the finish-line, offering through its own establishments a fascinating journey after each stage.
  • The peloton will ride through the Northern half of our country, finding 24 nearby Paradores along the way.

Paradores de Turismo and Unipublic, organiser of La Vuelta, have signed an agreement to join forces at a historic moment: the 90th anniversary of this emblematic cycling competition. With this sponsorship, Paradores reinforces its commitment to the values it shares with La Vuelta: dedication, teamwork, self-improvement, sportsmanship, leadership, passion and excitement. This strategic collaboration seeks to increase the brand’s visibility and bring it closer to a national and international audience through one of the most followed sporting events in the international cycling calendar.

La Vuelta 25 will mark a milestone in its history with an unprecedented departure from Italy to commemorate its 90th anniversary. Turin will be the departure point of the first three stages, thus reinforcing the race’s international exposure. This event, that will be held from the 23rd of August to the 14th of September, will cover a total of 3,151 km, divided into 21 stages.

This year’s edition of La Vuelta will have a varied and challenging itinerary for the riders. It will consist of four flat stages (one of them with a high-altitude finale), six mid-mountain stages, five mountain stages, one individual time trial and two undulating stages with high-altitude finales. Riders will also have two rest days in which to recover their strength so that they may face the race’s final stretch.

As it crosses the Northern half of our country, the peloton will find up to 24 nearby Paradores de Turismo along the way. For example, La Vuelta will take place near the Paradores of Cardona, Vic, La Seu d’Urgell, Arties, Vielha, Bielsa, Sos del Rey Católico, Olite, Calahorra, Santo Domingo Bernardo de Fresneda, Santo Domingo de la Calzada, Cangas de Onís, Ribadeo, Monforte, Cambados, Pontevedra, Baiona, Tui, Villafranca del Bierzo, Tordesillas, Salamanca, La Granja, Segovia and Alcalá de Henares.

Paradores de Turismo and La Vuelta are two great exponents of the Marca España. While La Vuelta turns our country into the global cycling epicentre during the final weeks of summer, promoting its image throughout the international scene, Paradores has spent almost a century managing a chain of unique hotels, located in exceptional buildings and natural areas. With 98 establishments in Spain and one in Portugal, the public chain of state-owned hotels aims to protect our national heritage, promote local development and offer a sustainable, quality tourist experience.

Through this sponsorship, the public hotel chain will have different media supports to give the brand visibility along the route, during the event’s retransmission and broadcast, and it will participate in different initiatives that will take place in one of the many entertainment areas throughout the event.

Paradores has decided to back this sports discipline as part of its promotional strategy, in accordance with its firm commitment to cyclotourism and sustainability. It currently has 26 adapted hotels, where guests may take their bicycles with them and have everything they need at their disposal: dedicated safe storage area, workshop area, washing area… Nearby, they will also find stores, bicycle rentals and, in some of the hotels, guests can even take their bicycles to their rooms with them. Furthermore, each Parador creates personalised routes to discover its surroundings.

Personalised cyclotourist routes with the La Vuelta seal of approval

To promote this initiative, which is the result of the sponsorship agreement signed with Unipublic, five new personalised routes will be created with the La Vuelta seal of approval around the Paradores of Antequera, Arties, Cangas de Onís, Baiona and Tordesillas, which will be publicised through the official La Vuelta website.

Though this campaign, under the slogan of ‘Una Vuelta a lo auténtico’ (a tour of the authentic), Paradores suggests that this year the adventure of La Vuelta continues beyond the finish-line, offering through its own establishments a fascinating journey after each stage. ‘Behind every curve, is a new emotion. Behind every kilometre, a new story. And at every destination, a Parador. Because La Vuelta is not just travelled, it is felt, experienced and savoured. Paradores awaits you at the end of very stage to encourage you to delve into history, connect with the surroundings and with nature, and taste the best regional gastronomy. Places with a historical legacy in which to rest and dream. Take a tour of the Paradores on an authentic, legendary journey.’
