Key points:
- The major events on the international cycling calendar organised by A.S.O. and Unipublic, including La Vuelta, the Tour de France and Paris-Roubaix, in both their men's and women's editions, will continue to be broadcast across Europe until 2032.
- The extension of this agreement builds on a longstanding relationship dating back nearly 60 years: the first comprehensive partnership with a group of European broadcasters, then known as Eurovision, was signed in 1968.
Millions of cycling fans across Europe will continue to experience La Vuelta, the Tour de France and other iconic races until 2032, following a two-year extension of the media rights agreement between the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.) and Unipublic announced today.
Coming shortly after the partners announced their agreement for 2026–2030, the extension provides audiences with long-term certainty and ensures Europe’s biggest cycling moments remain widely accessible through public service media for years to come.
The extended agreement covers the same portfolio of men’s and women’s events which include:
- Men's races: La Vuelta, Tour de France, Paris-Roubaix Hauts-de-France, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, La Flèche Wallonne, Paris-Nice, Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, ADAC Cyclassics Hamburg, Eschborn-Frankfurt, Clasica San Sebastian, Paris-Tours, Tro Bro Leon and Volta Catalunya.
- Women's races: La Vuelta Femenina, Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, Paris-Roubaix Femmes Hauts-de-France, Liège-Bastogne-Liège Femmes and La Flèche Wallonne Femmes.
At time of signature of the 2031-2032 extension, whole or part of the package of races will be broadcast free-to-air by the following EBU Members: RTBF (Belgium), ČT (Czechia), TV2 (Denmark), DUNA (Hungary), RAI (Italy), NOS (Netherlands), TV2 (Norway), RTP (Portugal), RTVS (Slovakia), RTV (Slovenija), and SRG SSR (Switzerland).
Thanks to a sub-licence from the EBU, Eurosport will also continue to broadcast the Tour de France, La Vuelta and the other races in the package across Europe*, alongside TNT Sports in the UK and Ireland
Frédéric Sanz, EBU Head of Summer Sports and Cycling, said:
“Having only recently renewed our agreement with A.S.O. and Unipublic for 2026–2030, we’re delighted to already be extending this successful partnership until 2032.
“Our relationship has never been stronger, built on a shared ambition to bring the very best cycling to the widest possible audience. This outstanding portfolio combines some of the sport’s most iconic races with an equal commitment to men’s and women’s cycling, while the unrivalled reach of public service media will continue to connect millions of fans across Europe with these elite cycling events.
“This extension is a strong vote of confidence in our partnership and commitment to keeping world-class cycling accessible to everyone.”
Julien Goupil, Media and Partnerships Director at A.S.O.:
“The extension of our agreement with the EBU confirms the strength of a relationship built over several decades. This longstanding partnership is rooted in a shared vision: making our events accessible to the widest possible audience, across Europe and on all platforms. Today, nearly 150 million people across the continent follow the Tour de France every summer.
This shared ambition has enabled us to reach new audiences while also attracting younger viewers. Indeed, more and more young people are following cycling across all platforms.
Together with the EBU and its members, we also share a commitment to supporting the shift towards digital consumption of sports content on official broadcasters’ platforms. And this transition is already well underway.”
*Excluding France (except for La Vuelta, La Vuelta Femenina, Volta Catalunya, Clasica San Sebastin, ADAC Cyclassics Hamburg and Eschborn-Frankfurt).
