- The video will launch on the 4th of July, coinciding with the start of the Tour de France in Barcelona.
La Vuelta 26 already has an official video. This Sunday, in the run-up to the World Cup match between Spain and Saudi Arabia, Unipublic and RTVE presented the audiovisual piece that will accompany the promotion of the next edition of the Spanish tour all throughout the summer and will feature the song ‘Despierto Amándote’, by Miranda!, which has been chosen as the race's official song.
The video evokes summertime with images heavily featuring the sun, the sea and the light of the Mediterranean, which will play an important role in La Vuelta 26. A particular highlight will be Monaco, which will host the race’s Grand Departure, and whose emblematic Monte Carlo Casino will play a prominent role, as will other emblematic places along the circuit, with an appearance by Spanish racing driver Fernando Alonso. All this comes together with the emotion, passion and energy that define La Vuelta, connecting sports, territories and fans through some of this edition’s most representative locations.
The official song of La Vuelta is already an inseparable emblem of the race, with a history spanning over 45 years, combining music and cycling. Since Sheila & B. Devotion set the rhythm of the very first edition with Singing in the Rainback in 1977, numerous artists, both national and international, have accompanied the different editions of the race with their music, thus becoming an essential part of its identity.
As is the case every year, the video’s launch marks the beginning of the countdown towards a new edition of La Vuelta. It will begin to be broadcast on the 4th of July, coinciding with the start of the Tour de France in Barcelona, and will accompany the promotion of the race all throughout the summer, broadcast 300 times on RTVE channels. On the 22nd of August, La Vuelta will depart Monaco and head to France, Andorra and Spain in an edition that will conclude on the 13thof September in Granada.
