In September, Granada will host the La Vuelta Desafío Granada, a new official cyclotourist event inspired by the race. It will be held on Saturday, the 26th of September, just two weeks after the conclusion of La Vuelta 26 in the Nasrid capital, following two final stages in the province.

The event will allow cycling fans to ride along a signposted route on the same roads as the professionals to celebrate La Vuelta 26’s historic finale in Granada. The Nasrid capital will host the departure and the expo for an event that will be held on roads that are closed to traffic, thus allowing participants to live a unique cycling experience in truly privileged surroundings, in the very same safety conditions as the professional riders.

The new La Vuelta Desafío Granada will cover a distance of 100 kilometres with an elevation of 3,450 metres, including climbs to El Purche and Puerto de Hazallanas. Additionally, participants will be able to finish their route at any of the passages through Güejar Sierra, at kilometres 33.7 and 67.5.

The initiative seeks to strengthen the link between La Vuelta and the Province of Granada, one of the Spanish territories with the longest cycling traditions and a habitual setting for major race stages. Following the celebration of La Vuelta 26, the province will have hosted 42 departures and 43 finish-lines throughout the history of the Spanish tour, reflecting the historical relationship between the race and the territory of Granada - one of the greatest cycling venues in our country. Roads that witnessed a spectacular victory by the British rider Adam Yates in 2024 and will once again come alive with La Vuelta 26.

Registrations will open on April 20 at 14:00 for pre-registered participants, and on April 21 at 14:00 for the general public.
