Israel Start-Up Nation was the only team to make its debut in La Vuelta 20. This year, the Israeli team will compete for the second consecutive year as a WorldTour team, following its creation in 2015 under the name of Cycling Academy Team. Kjell Carlström’s men took Katusha’s place in cycling’s maximum category and inherited part of the structure and the riders from the Swiss team. In 2022, Canadian company Premier Tech has gone from co-sponsoring the Astaná Team to doing so for the team from Israel. The team’s debut in La Vuelta was very positive, particularly for one name, Dan Martin. The Irishman obtained a stage victory at an unprecedented high-altitude finale: La Laguna Negra - Vinuesa, and just missed out from making it to the podium for the general classification. Martin, along with other renowned veterans such as André Greipel and Chris Froome, will be in charge of keeping the team, the first from Israel to obtain a place in the WorldTour, high up in this ranking.
