The history

Israel Start-Up Nation was the only team to make its debut in La Vuelta 20. This year, the Israeli team will compete for the second consecutive year as a WorldTour team, following its creation in 2015 under the name of Cycling Academy Team. Kjell Carlström’s men took Katusha’s place in cycling’s maximum category and inherited part of the structure and the riders from the Swiss team. In 2022, Canadian company Premier Tech moved from co-sponsoring the Astaná Team to doing so for the team from Israel.

The team’s debut in La Vuelta was very positive, particularly for one name, Dan Martin. The Irishman obtained a stage victory at an unprecedented high-altitude finale: La Laguna Negra - Vinuesa, and just missed out from making it to the podium for the general classification. After the retirements of Dan Martin and André Greipel, the team has been reinforced with two experienced riders in Jakob Fuglsang and Giacomo Nizzolo. After missing La Vuelta 23 after losing their WorldTour status, they return to La Vuelta as one of the best ProTeams for 2023.
