La Vuelta Junior is an educational and sporting project that brings cycling closer to young people. Through children's races held in the same stage cities, thousands of boys and girls experience La Vuelta from the inside, learning values such as effort, teamwork and sustainable mobility.
Since 2011, La Vuelta Junior Cofidis has established itself as one of the most emblematic educational and sporting projects linked to La Vuelta. Over these years, the initiative has already accompanied more than 255,000 children aged 6 to 14 in their learning and enjoyment of cycling, promoting healthy lifestyle habits, road safety and the everyday use of the bicycle.
In 2025, La Vuelta Junior continues its growth and commitment to training future generations of cyclists. La Vuelta 25 edition has featured five host cities where the project was delivered: Figueres, Zaragoza, Bilbao, Valladolid and Madrid. In each of these cities, participating schoolchildren have enjoyed a unique experience: cycling the final kilometre of La Vuelta’s official route, just ahead of the arrival of the professional riders. An unforgettable moment that has allowed them to experience the excitement of the race from the inside and to share the space with their idols.
The activity is carried out in collaboration with the Association of Professional Cyclists (ACP), whose members participate in educational sessions previously held in schools. These talks combine training in road safety, healthy habits, sports motivation and promoting responsible bicycle use.
