The Más Bici Seal

The “Más Bici” label is a recognition scheme which, through an assessment process, recognises cities that are firmly committed to sustainable mobility and the promotion of cycling in their day-to-day lives, highlighting the good work being done in this area and identifying opportunities for improvement.

The allocation criteria enable progress to be assessed across five key areas: governance, infrastructure, services, education, sport and tourism. The application process is free and straightforward.

Following the inaugural edition in 2025, which coincided with the 90th anniversary of La Vuelta, the five cities featured on both the 1935 and 2025 routes of La Vuelta or La Vuelta Femenina by Carrefour.es were the first to receive this distinction. These include: Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Valladolid and Zaragoza.

This year, La Vuelta has expanded the scope of the project by offering all Spanish municipalities that have hosted the Spanish cycling race the opportunity to submit their applications and demonstrate their commitment to the everyday use of bicycles.

As a result, 18 new local authorities have been awarded the ‘Más Bici 2026’ seal.

The local authorities recognised are Benasque (Huesca);Benidorm, Calpe, Castalla, Orihuela, Torrevieja y Villena (Alicante); Capileira (Granada); Cartagena (Murcia); Ares del Maestrat, Castellón de la Plana y Lucena del Cid (Castellón); Guijuelo (Salamanca); A Coruña, Somiedo (Asturias); Valdeolmos-Alalpardo (Madrid); Villadiego (Burgos) y Vitoria-Gasteiz (Álava).

The group of local authorities awarded the ‘Más Bici’ seal includes both large cities and small towns, reflecting the diversity of La Vuelta, a race that passes through regions across the country and aims to encourage more and more people to incorporate cycling into their daily lives.
