Luis Leon Sanchez (Astana): “The first challenge was to get into the break. With the hard pace in the first two hours, it was very hard to be up there. The whole team had to be on alert, and we can't do it so much with a leader like (Fabio) Aru. I've had to follow every move to make sur I'd be in the right one. I wanted to break away because I knew the stage suited me well and I knew the route, it ended up next to my home. I managed to be there but they (Trentin and Rojas) were much better than the rest of us, and I didn't have the best legs. It was obvious the break would make it to the finish and teams were going with riders that could both climb and be fast. Quick-Step worked hard for (Julian) Alaphilippe and (Matteo) Trentin, Movistar with (Jose Joaquin) Rojas and others, and the rest of us had to follow every move because we didn't now which one would go. That's part of the team work. Some can help each others in the breaks, but we have a leader. I'm disappointed that I didn't have the best legs.”
