Rudy Molard (Groupama-FDJ): “We had anticipated the wind but not that Thibaut (Pinot) would lose time. The goal was to defend the red jersey but also to protect him. The pace picked up when we got out of the village. I don’t know how it happened, I thought I had the guys just behind me and then I heard on the radio Thibaut was behind. He was at the front all day, I guess he got behind at the worst moment. They told me today was going to be easy, that I was going to enjoy this day, and we saw what happened. I’m going to take things day by day and not pretend I’m going to keep the red jersey until some specific day.”
