Fraile: “Woods played his cards and it worked well”

Omar Fraile (Astana Pro Team): “It’s the climb where I test myself and I knew it perfectly. I knew the stage was going to be difficult when I saw the breakaway. But being up there and with great legs, I knew it was possible. At first we worked well together, then Woods was saying Carthy is in the fight for GC and Valverde was there… That doesn’t make sense because in the end we gained a minute and it wasn’t going to make much of a difference. He played his cards and it worked well. I tried to follow the wheels to protect Aranburu’s options in the chasing group. And when Woods went, I thought Valverde would follow and I would win afterwards but it didn’t work out.”
