Gino Mäder (Bahrain Victorious): “It’s unbelievable for me. The whole thing kind of fell into my hands yesterday. I was already happy just to be among the best climbers of the race, and now I’m sitting here with the white jersey and 5th on GC, having helped Jack [Haig] to the podium. I’m a little bit lost for words. It was kind of unexpected. I take it, I hope it’s not my last time in the top 5 of a Grand Tour. I try to realise what happened. I’ll go home, recover a little bit and maybe I’ll realise in a week. It’s a nice feeling and I hope I’ll get it again. Just to know you can be with the best helps so much.”
