Renfe and Unipublic will travel together for the seventh consecutive year. The railway company will be the official transport provider for La Vuelta 22 that will commence on the 19th of August in the city of Utrecht (Netherlands). This agreement renewal took place at Atocha Station in the presence of Francisco Arteaga, Director of the High-Speed Train Business Division and other Commercial Services; José Ignacio Rodríguez, Director of the Local Train Business Division and Other Public Services; Javier Marín, Director of Commerce, Clients and Customer Loyalty at Renfe; and Javier Guillén, General Director of La Vuelta.

In this way, Renfe renews its historic commitment to sports in general and to La Vuelta in particular – a race it shares certain values with, such as sustainability and social responsibility. Through the agreement, the railway company provides the organisation with a transport service that is comfortable, reliable and offers the maximum sanitary assurances in its High-Speed and Long Distance trains, both national and international.

SANITARY GUARANTEES AND SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT

With regards to Covid-19, Renfe continues to carry out its cleaning and disinfecting procedures for all its trains, which have been recognised with AENOR and SGS certificates for the transport of passengers. The SGS seal and the AENOR certification form part of the Safe Train initiative launched by Renfe in order to ensure the maximum possible safety and tranquillity of their passengers when travelling by train.

Also, Renfe is the greatest consumer of renewable electrical energy in Spain. The majority of its services work through electric traction, thus contributing to sustainable mobility and to the reduction of polluting gas emissions, as all of Renfe’s electrical train energy features the 100% renewable origin certification.
