"I think [Remco Evenepoel] had a comeback only a world champion can do. I already said congratulations to him. I didn’t see the stage because I was racing but from what I’ve seen that was impressive. That shows how champions can come back. If I have legs, I’m always gonna try. It’s difficult with how strong Jumbo riders are. We have to try to see if one day they have a bad day. If we don’t try, we’ll never know. We tried first to pull for the stage victory but it was really hard with so many guys up front. My teammates did an amazing job, we kept making the race hard but then it was a long way between the climbs and we backed off."
