Kaden Groves: "I think we surprised a lot of guys today"

"I don’t think this is a missed opportunity for a stage win. Actually, I’m very proud of my team, I’m proud of the ride I did. In the end, we went after a stage that on paper was always gonna be difficult. I think we surprised a lot of guys today. It shows that my team believes in me. We didn’t get the win but we did a really good performance. We had Jimmy [Janssens] in the front and he took the intermediate points for me so, again, this is a really good team effort. It’s good for him to also have a chance to race for the win because he’s been the guy that’s always pulling at the front of the peloton in the sprint stages. There’s no gifts. We did our best, I did the absolutely best ride I could do. In the end, it wasn’t enough but I’m still proud regardless."
