Primoz Roglic: "I did my own tempo"

"I always feel getting older you get a bit better. It was a much nicer result than last time [losing La Roja on the Angliru in 2020]. It was not really tactical. On the last climb, the point where I went, it’s just so hard and so steep… I did my own tempo and the climb made the difference. I let [Bahrain Victorious] pace, they were going fast enough, and the moment I felt the pace was a bit dropping, I went for it and I did my own pace until the top. I spoke with Sepp Kuss. I know it’s a weird feeling but on such a steep climb, everyone goes as fast as possible and then we see. I told him: ‘Keep fighting, keep believing an you will make it’."
