"I’m super happy [to have won stages in the three Grand Tours]. I’ve worked really hard the last couple of months. It wasn’t always easy after the Giro, a lot of setbacks, and I’m so happy to be back on the podium and to take this win. There were echelons in the beginning. I tried to play it as smooth as possible, following without spending too much energy and after 50 kilometres, when it came back on the climb, I still had some power to make the break. In the end, it was really tricky, because the climb was always going up and down, it was hard to find room to drop the others. You just try to feel the situation. I saw I had a bit of a gap ahead of a corner so I thought I’d go full gas there. I went over my limit for two minutes and then it was just a fight until the end."
