The edition’s first mountain stage consists of 167 km and includes four point-incurring mountain passes. It will be complicated right from the start, with a Category 2 climb and Alto de Piornal (Category 1) within the first 50 km. The escape will be the star of these first climbs prior to the finale at Pico Villuercas, with 3 km taking place on cement ramps with inclinations of between 15-16%.
