Marc Soler (UAE Team Emirates-XRG): “It's an unexpected day, but I'm very happy. I wasn't planning on joining the breakaway. The plan was different, but I followed [Victor] Campenaerts, who joined the breakaway, and once there, I knew how to play my cards right. I climbed [Puertu San Llaurenziu] on the wheels, and then I knew the valley from the last time [2020]. It's a very tough valley, and when you open up a gap, you can make it. I had my doubts with the wind, but anyway, I'm very happy! It’s unbelievable to have won 50% of the stages of La Vuelta with the team. It’s amazing.”
