Giulio Pellizzari (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe): “This is the best moment of my career, a short career until now. Today I had a strange feeling. I felt a bit it could be my day. And I have to thank my team, especially Jai [Hindley]. Today, we were fighting to step on the podium. We didn’t do it but I think it’s not over. We went full gas on the valley to try and put [Tom] Pidcock under pressure. In the last kilometres, there were two riders from our team out of six riders in the front. I was thinking: ‘If I go, nobody will follow.’ And that’s how it went. [Matthew] Riccitello tried many times to attack me. I was really full gas on the steep part. But when the road flattened a bit, I tried and it was perfect for me.”
