Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek): “In general, it was a really good day. Again today the guys from the team did absolutely amazing, making a big effort of letting a small breakaway go and controlling from then on. Then, of course, the finale got really hectic, and it was not easy to get the right order for the lead-out. We missed each other a bit and then I was alone for the last kilometre. That was a bit bad to be alone, then it was hard to manage the sprint well and I had to start from really far behind. It is what it is and we keep chasing a victory. At least now we have the green jersey, and we’ll keep fighting and keep trying to score more points. If I had the solution we would make the changes. We have to keep in mind that the beginning of the Giro, all these stages where we were performing were suiting me and the team 100%. It’s not the same here, it’s easier to make a small mistake that will have a bigger impact on the outcome. We keep trying to get it right. It’s the first time we really race together like this so we have to build foundations for the future.”
