Joel Nicolau (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA): “We wanted to do well, because in the end, as a team, we always want to give our best and save the day. We don't have any rider for the GC, so we didn't have the pressure that the big teams have to perform well for the GC. We wanted to do a good time trial and demonstrate the team's level.”
“(The crowd was) very heartful, I'm very happy. At the end, even on the course, I could hear my name, so I want to thank the crowd who came out to cheer me on, and I want to say hello to my family, my girlfriend, and everyone who came out to see me today. Now there are two tough stages ahead where we'll try to fight for the jersey, and we'll see how we do. Our form is good, we have good legs, so we'll have to fight.”
