Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek): “I was helping the team with Daan [Hoole] and Soren [Kragh Andersen]. It was our job today to get Cicco and the boys first into that climb [La Comella] to avoid any incident or crash. It was pretty straightforward. We couldn’t go for the win, because the breakaway had too much time. We also need to save the guys, not to pull everyday. So in the end, it was all in to have Cicco stay with the main GC guys and he did. So for us this was a successful day.”
