Vine: "It was super important to have two riders"

Jay Vine (UAE Team Emirates-XRG): "Today was another good day for the team. A lot of work on the roads, and two really hard days in my legs now, so looking forward to some time off. Today it was super important to have two riders in the breakaway. They controlled really really hard on the first climb. At points, it looked like they’d want to just let one rider up the road. So I had to force a group to get up the road. And then once I was there it was all about to try to keep the group going and going. Luckily, the green jersey points were at the start of the last climb so we were able to get Mads [Pedersen] to help us all the way. If it was just one rider from our team at the front, it would have been really difficult to get the time required to be able to do the last climb. A hat-trick [of victories for UAE Team Emirates-XRG] is incredible. I’m really happy with that. Hopefully, an easy day tomorrow, and we can work towards the next 10, 12 stages."
