"It definitely wasn’t an easy day. We said before the start that with the wind and the climb in the finale we had to be really switched on today. The boys really nailed it. Every section we wanted to be in front, we were there. Especially, Ben [Turner] and Josh [Tarling] did some really big turns today. It was really good.
The first foal was to protect me. And then after the last climb, Axel [Laurance] was there so he had his chance in the finale [5th]. Unfortunately Jack 5Haig] punctured, otherwise he would have been there to help Axel a bit more. He did really well considering he was by himself.
I’m pretty much back to normal now I think [after being sick the day before]. I feel fine on the bike and obviously yesterday I seemed to have pretty good legs."
