Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates XRG) retains the lead in the overall classification, points classification, and mountains classification after Stage 5 of La Vuelta 26:
“It was still a tough stage. We had it under control with the team so I'm really happy about today. You never know what happened in the back and it's always more nervous in the back, so we took the front and we did a really good job.”
“Chapeau to all the youngsters [like today's winner, Matthew Brennan]. La Vuelta is always a good race for the young guys that are coming, and it's good to see that we have big talents coming up.”
