The history

Since its creation in 2005 under the name of Bretagne - Jean Floc'h, the team has continued to grow from the Continental category until becoming the second-best ProTeam in 2021. This sporting achievement has earned it the invitation to compete in the entire 2022 WT calendar, and made it eligible to apply to become a WorldTeam in 2023.   In 2020, with the arrival of Nairo Quintana, Nacer Bouhanni and Diego Rosa, among others, the team experienced a leap in quality that allowed it to be placed among the best riders in the second professional category. This year, performances by newly arrived team members Hugo Hofstetter and Nicolas Edet, have helped the team to continue to improve both its performance and its results. Nairo Quintana also managed to obtain 6th place in the Tour de France.   Furthermore, 2022 is the last year of the triennium (2020-2022) established by UCI for teams to obtain a WorldTeam licence for 2023 and Arkéa will apply to be ‘promoted’ next season.
