TOTALENERGIES
France
The history
TotalEnergies will return to La Vuelta following a two-year absence. It has not participated in La Vuelta since 2020, when it did so under the name Team Total Direct Energie. The team has participated in La Vuelta a total of 11 times since its debut in 2005 under the name of Bouygues Telecom and, later, under the sponsorship of Europcar. In 2016, already featuring the French energy company’s name, they obtained their one and only La Vuelta victory thus far - the win by the very young Lilian Calmejane in the slopes of the Mirador de Vixía. With its distinct French character, the TotalEnergies team opted to become more international by signing the three-time world champion Peter Sagan who, after wearing the team’s jersey since 2021, will conclude his professional career at the end of the season.
