Martinez: "I didn't want to explode"

Lenny Martinez (Groupama-FDJ): "The white jersey and 3rd overall, it’s still good. I would have liked to keep the red jersey for as long as possible, but you have to accept that too. Up front, there were some very big riders who rode very hard during the day, and very, very hard on the final climb. I didn't finish that far behind, at 1 minute. The aim is not to lose too much time, but if I do, that's normal: there are champions up front. I paced myself with Michael Storer, who helped me a lot on the climb and in the final. I didn't want to explode on such a difficult climb. The next thing is to keep fighting for the overall and to defend the white jersey by riding hard every day."
