"I don’t know how I did it! I launched my sprint and I wasn’t sure whether there were still some guys in front or not. I did not put my hands in the air… That’s crazy. I can’t believe it. The last few days were really hard for me and today I felt good. I told Guillaume [Martin-Guyonnet]: ‘Go full gas until you di’. And I take the win. It’s amazing. I didn’t think I could achieve something like that in la Vuelta. The preparation this year was not really good; I didn’t feel good last week. It was a bit strange, not like the other years. I chose to trust the process and we’ll see. I took the start knowing the job was done, and then it was about racing the way I like it and go for a win. I spent the day saying: ‘these roads are great, it’s so beautiful, it’s so nice’. I loved the day. And in the end I won!"
